    Default Repair of slate steps

I wanted to repair my slate front steps. The slate is deteriorated and cracked. I don't want to tear down the whole thing and rebuild. What are my options?

    1) Remove broken slate and chip out old cement.

    2) Make sure all surfaces are level. Make sure you chip out
and clean all areas where you see cracks.

    3) Measure twice before you cut holes for railings.
Use 2 part mix epoxy for holes.

    4) Once you put enough mud on surface for slate, slide on
    carefully (easy to break).

    5) Use Masonry cement.

    6) Drying - Put plastic on cement when drying if you
want smooth. Broom sweep if you want a brush finish.
