$5,000 reward offered in watercraft incident

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the identification of the operator of a personal watercraft who ran into a Mount Laurel boy last month in waters off Ocean City, state police said.


The incident occurred July 20. The 17-year-old Mount Laurel boy was riding a personal watercraft at 11:30 a.m. when he was struck by another personal watercraft, police said.


The boy suffered a head injury, fractures and cuts. He was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he spent a week in the intensive care unit, police said.
His identity was not released.


The operator of the other watercraft did not stop after the incident.
