Default 65 pounds enough to win NY bass fishing tournament

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - The final Bassmaster Elite Series fishing tournament of the season has been held at a lake in upstate New York.

Lake Havasu, Ariz., resident Dean Rojas won the event Sunday on Oneida Lake. The Syracuse lake is known for its smallmouth bass, but most of the top competitors caught largemouths.

Rojas posted a 4-day total of 65 pounds, 2 ounces. That was enough to hold off Terrell, N.C., resident Kevin Langill and Runnemede, N.J, resident and 2006 Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year Mike Iaconelli.

Rojas has crossed the $1 million mark in career BASS earnings. He says it was a wonderful week. The anglers experienced rain and hail during the Champion's Choice event, which will be shown next weekend on "The Bassmasters" on ESPN2.

65 lbs, nice. Iaconelli didn't place in that tournament? Was he in it?
