Default New Jersey Outdoors for Women Surf Fishing Workshop 2008

Hey folks, this is just a reminder for all those who know women interested in learning about Surf fishing. There is a Workshop at Island Beach State Park in October.

It's a great opportunity for women to learn from other women in a mellow environment. And you just can't beat that great price of $15 (refunded) for a day of learning.

Men, here's your chance to introduce the women in your life to surf fishing, without feeling they have to catch something or compete with you.

    Some of the details:

New Jersey Outdoors for Women Surf Fishing Workshop
    October 6 - 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Island Beach State Park, Seaside Park, NJ

Surf Fishing Clinic - (No surf fishing experience needed.) Open to women only at least 18 years old.

Participants will learn about information on rods, reels, weights, line, tackle, knots, bait, fish identification, casting, reading the surf, and caring for your catch.

The afternoon will be spent on the beach using techniques learned to fish the surf. The workshop will take place rain or shine, warm or cold. Participants should be prepared with appropriate clothing, as well as other convenience items such as sun screen, sunglasses, hat, and foul weather gear.

Please enclose a check for $15.00 made out to the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife. This fee will be refunded to you at the class but will be nonrefundable for those not attending.

Participants will also be able to register for the Governor's Surf Fishing Tournament held the following day. The cost for the tournament is $10 for adults; equipment will be supplied to those who participate in the workshop, but participants will have to supply their own bait.

    Registration deadline Sept. 21, 2007.

Bump for a good cause. A while back in a tackle shop, I met one of the women who teaches at these seminars . I think her name is Susan? In her late 50's or 60's, tremendous amount of knowledge on surf fishing.
