The best woman I ever saw was up on the Vineyard a while back. She was elderly, in her 70's, tall and frail. She walks out onto the sand with an old conventional set up and starts casting next to the rocks at the inlet. Casted about 10 times and hooks into a small Bonita. Plays it, brings it in, fillets it and walks off the beach. She was on a mission. Enjoyed seeing that.

Nice post! I wonder about all the past memories she connected with in addition to some nice fillets!

You're only as old as ya feel! I saw two women up at Montauk this fall, maybe in their 60's. They went out and fished the south side, rocks and all.

In NJ, besides my girlfriend who loves to fish, there's 2 veteran ladies that come to mind. One of em I think her name's Judy, she fishes a lot on the MoCo rocks. You'll find her down on those rocks every day with the guys when the big girls come in. She can handle her own, and I've never seen her ask for help from a guy when she has a fish on.

The other one I thiink her name's Bev, not exactly sure. I met her when I first started fishin Sandy Hook. She knows that place blindfolded. She taught a lot of cool things to a rookie like me, and I was willing to listen. She's the one who teaches the "Women in Fishing" weekend at IBSP. She's the real deal.

Many guys didn't take her seriously, and she told me a few stories about how she would pull a bass from an area after guys would walk by and say: "Hey wattya fishin there for, that's too shallow, no bass in there! Ha! Ha!"

....and then she would pull out a keeper from the water where they said there were none.

There's one more I remember seeing regularly. She uses fly and spinning gear, and I've seen her quite a few times around the Lavalette area. I forgot what her name is, though.

She does like the rasta music, it seems.
But she is so hot it doesn't matter to me. She could listen to alps yodelling tunes for all I care, as long as she continues to look like that.

i like bob marley, but whatever that was, was awful. but i think anything musical would have detracted from the music of that beautiful stream.

and i concur that April is very cute.

Holy samoleons! The thread title says real women, but I don't like mine "that' real. She is a little too "out there" for my tastes, but to each his own.
