I need new family room floor and I have been thinking about laminate flooring. Can anyone tell me if it is easy to install?

Depends on your level of skill. If you are used to using power tools, have decent carpentry skills, no problem. The hardest thing is learning how to make clean cuts with the blade, and measuring your gaps and transitions right.

I would advise you get a plywood blade, fine tooth, that you will throw out when you are done. Last job I used Oldham, about 120 teeth spec. Small teeth make for finer cuts, and a cleaner job.

When you cut, make sure you account for the width of the interlocking tongue piece. sometimes you have to measure backward to get more accuracy. Instructions come in the package. Make sure you read them carefully, and be prepared to waste a few pieces until you get the hang of it.
