    Default New School Prayer

The "new pledge of allegiance" for schools written by a 15 year old.

    NEW School prayer:

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule.
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
    Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
    That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
    Amen

    So true

Pay attention to what history has taught us or be prepared to relive it again

Anyone can pray to whomever they want to wherever they want to. It has no place in school though. If I had kids and their teacher wanted to pray before class everyday or say grace before lunch or whatever, I would have a serious issue with that. No body but kids parents should be introducing them to any sort of religion.

I can't stand when people try to "convert" me or push "god" on me. We all have the right to believe in what we want. Don't push it on me or our nations children if they or their parents don't want it.

There is separation of church and state for a reason. Look at President bush.

We as a society are going off course. Loosing direction.
I believe in freedom of religion, not being forced into any religion.
But removing the "One Nation Under God" from the pledge of allegiance in school is in my mind another step in the wrong direction. Its harmless.
So many kids have no morals, complete disrespect for others.
Heck, too many adults are like this.
Removing anything that has structure from a child's upbringing is a negative nowadays.
    Trust parents???
    Some yes, some no.
For the no, where do the kids get structure, learn right from wrong?

Religion in school has nothing to do with structure or right or wrong. Teachers are actually paid to teach structure and right and wrong. Not teach that there god is better than mine or that any god is better than none. That is not their concern. Teach the kids that smacking another kid is wrong, teach them that they must do their homework or there are consequences. If the parents don't teach them religion, nobody else should.
