New member here I live in Long Island N.Y. started fishing for blowfish and snappers with my grandfather when I was about three he taught me so much now that I look back and realize he wasn't yelling at me he was learning me. From that day on I have been fishing for everything offshore,inshore,surf &jetty.I still enjoy my boat fishing but surf fishing is the one that keeps me sane.I generally fish from Montauk and most of the south shore.Great site.

My Dad used to yell about everything that he taught me, I know what you mean. Although he didn't teach me about fishing, it was his way to yell and bark at people. That's how he learned too, he was just passing on the behavior he learned form his Dad.
