Default Things that catch fishermen, not fish

The craziest or stupidest thing you bought to catch more fish? Try to put up a pic if you can, some of these products are classics.

Anyone remember the helicopter lure? These things caught nothing but the cash in my wallet.

I caught a 8lb bass, freshwater with a helicopter lure. I wonder if the hoax has proven to be false?

Well bravo for you guys because I have never caught anything on a banjo minnow. Those things were designed to separate you from your hard-earned cash. my .02.

Many expensive wooden plugs that were never tested to see if the even swim

Or plugs with scale patterns or ones with 3 colors fading into each other. They definitely catch fishermen, not so much the fish!

I have been sucked in to buying all the new gadgets and things what will slay the fish. Especially when you walk in the tackle shop and the guy behind the counter says "this is the latest they are killing them on". They never work like they claim. Great for laughs tho.
