Default 2009 NJ fluke/summer flounder regulations decided

This is what they decided... 6 fish limit, 18"

May23rd to Sept. 4th for the season. I guess it could have been worse, look at what they're going through in New York.

I wish for once they would talk to the fishermen, or put a guy who fishes all season on their review board. It's stupid to put all fish back when you know a certain number are going to die anyway. I fished last year for fluke from the surf and didn't catch one keeper all year.

They're targeting for female breeders to be kept by throwing smaller males back. It would make much more sense to me if you let guys keep 2 at 17", and strictly enforce that to make sure everyone was in compliance.

But where would the money come from for that enforcement without a saltwater license when they're cutting voluntary COs out of the program now?
