^ Just look for the grouchiest basstid there with a face like the one you make when eating a sour grapefruit, and ya found him......

It's the tradition....and the history....IMO you will see more of the old salts, crusty barnacles, and old time sharpies at Asbury than anywhere else....

Asbury is a place where guys come each year just to see who's still alive and who isn't....and touch base with others who they haven't seen in awhile......

If the Asbury show could be compared to a Biker convention...with all the other shows being regular poker runs and parties....
The Asbury show would be at the top level, comparable to Sturgis or Daytona......

If you go early, stay all day...you may have a chance to meet some of the best of the best, in the surf fishing world....walk the floor, listen to the old timers talk, and try to ask questions.....you may make a few friends and learn some amazing fishing tricks.......

Don't miss that show ....there isn't another one like it

I'm sleeping outside right now...


huddled up in the moving blanket Fin graciously gave me when he found out I like to sleep in my car....
I figure after I have a nomad meal of buttered roll and coffee from the 7-11, I'll go by Speedy's place, write something to bust his balls, put it on his windshield, text him taunting him about what a bad shot he is...can't hit the side of the barn....etc....


Then, giving him a fair target to hit, I'll him for about 5 seconds....
This will get him mad....he will shoot at me with the 9mm because I am so irritating...
Because he's getting so old...he will miss...
Someone will call the Asbury police report shots fired......
Within 2 minutes I will be gone from the scene....
And he will be safely back in his castle...his oasis in the urban desert....

At that point I'll go back to my secluded spot, wrap myself up in the blankets, get to sleep early and be the first one in line when the doors open.....

IMO the Asbury show is one of the best in the tri-state area......deals, old salts, deals, meeting up with folks you may not have seen in years, getting to see the infamous OGB in person, and hear him rant about the state of society today........great deals...the famous dirty water dogs..and more deals on hard to find surf toys and gear.......Priceless.....

I could tell you some googan DS stories albiealert. There is an endless supply. The guy really is mental, no offense dark. Come down and fish with us this spring. We'll have a blast. Sorry missed you all at the flea market but we wanted to catch some fish. You should come out and fish with us one night. Hardly anyone out there and right now not that much trash.

Great writeup. I was in and out early. Got a few plugs custom wood. I bought less. Is it my imagination or were plug prices cheaper 4 years ago? There are a lot now that are 30 and up, and one guy was like 45. I can afford it but if they were less I would probably buy more.
