Right around 3-4:30 am, right before false dawn is usually good for me in the front. In the back, it was around high tide, in the middle of the night.

I really like the 12-4am shift, deep into the night. It can get relatively quiet at even the most popular spots. The few you will see out there are as serious as you are.
What rockhopper said. One hour before sunrise was my most consistently productive for larger fish.
