If you really felt the need for one, I would go with a 36, lighter where weight makes a difference. There's a guy called yakman who uses a motor, I've seen him backside of the Hook.
I had a 53 Minnkota for an old town squareback canoe, just the right fit for using all day, but those batteries really add weight, and you need 2 for a 54 to keep going after one dies. That problem of added weight can become an issue on a longer trip.
(This is why guys get pedal yaks, people!)
