    Default Reasons for a Kayak?

I have noticed more and more fishing Kayaks in the salt. Just wondering how you got interested in this form and some of the benefits you get from it.

    - more space to fish, less crowded
    - chance to sneak up on bigger fish
    - the beauty of nature

I don't have one but this would be one of my reasons. Here in Connecticut the problem is finding fishing spots. We have quite a few rivers. It's relatively easy to find a rivermouth somewhere and figure out how to fish it. The hard part is all the people living on the Sound and the closed and locked gates. If I get a kayak I can fish all that water that I could not get to previously.

I like the access angle too. All these places being shut off to surf guys, it's no problem for a yakker. Just find a safe place to put in, and you're on the hunt!
