Dead eels

I heard that you can fish with dead eels by skimming them on top of the water. Is this true?

yeah but you waste your money cause bluefish will chop em up! put them on a tin squid, rig an extra hook, and crawl slowly on the bottom.

I have had success with this but you have to retrieve it quickly.

better when rigged on a tin eel head, pictured is a sluggo i rigged but eel would look the same
