    they stay around somewhat through winter,even some large as well but,not many.
    backwater areas and even into freshwater areas too.
    my friend has caught them through the ice.

    I'm thinking you may have some WWD plants around that makes the water warmer than the other areas? Whatever it is you sir are lucky to still be catching on dec5. Nice action thanks for sharing.

    nope,no powerplants around here.
    it's river fishing,it's different from the beach,the fish stay inside where bait likes to hang/hide.
    lots of backwater to stay in,some of it's deep and some is shallow,they will be on the shallows getting warm sun and then go deep at night.
    water is still warm too at 50 degrees f.
    I only fish at night and find them in the deeper holes low in the current.
    I am sure they are in the rivers where you are.

    There must be something about where you live that you guys still have resident stripers. I can't speak for NY but in Jersey most of our rivers are dead right now even with the 55 degree weather. Lots o bait coming through and hardly any stripers. Most of our fish are in the ocean right now. The only game in town unless you want to fish the back bays of s Jersey where there are some. Always enjoy your reports and a little envious that you have all those fish. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.
