Awesome catches! you guys have giant blue fish and some nice stripers. Are you sure you're not fishing in finchasers secret fishing hole?

Happy to see you're doing so well Roddy. We were crossing the Throgs Neck bridge during the daytime a while ago. friends who live up that way have been having great night bluefish and bass action as the adult bunker are there in high numbers. The Western Sound, the CT rivers, Montauk, and the Hudson River areas seem to be the best places for big blues so far this Fall....with NJ getting short-changed, unless you're on a boat fishing the Mud Hole... friends who fish NJ every night had bigger blues for 2 nights in a row, and then they vanished....

I considered coming up your way, or at least to the Western Sound, for the night action.....seems the rivers by you are the best bet as you can reach them better...in the Western Sound you need to be nearer deep water for best success......We'll have to chalk it up as a partial loss for NJ land fishermen this fall so far....I'm still hoping they show...I love those angry tackle busting fish.....congrats and greetings to your wife too......

in the last few days the gators have shrunk to 3 lb sizes with one bigger gator in there for me anyway.
been fishing hard and getting action but, man whats with the wind, blowing me away.
nice having it from the back makes for longer casts.

    thanks Dark.
it has been good out there.
have not seen guys out on the water though, thought it was odd.
have been putting my time in and when I find a bite I stay on it till it dies off.
hoping to see more bass around closer to home, they have been around but, nothing of size.

    cheers

    thanks NS.
yes lots of them showing up but, then they vanish for a couple of days then pop up again.
thing is they have been predictable.
now with the light tide movement they have vanished.
next week should prove to be interesting indeed!

as I think I may haven stated before, when the bite is on I make time to be on them, when it's off I back off.
next week the bite should be back on with the tides pulling again.
as my nic says I will be plugging the rips hard.
