    Default Gravel guards

Does anyone here use gravel guards. How good are they for keeping the sand out?

I have used them, they are better than nothing, but they don't keep all the sand and gravel out of your boots. You are much better off with bootfoot waders.

I think how good they work depends on how good your boots fit as well as what type of gravel guard you have. I have a pir of Simms G3's with gravel guards that are the same material as the stocking feet that are on the waders themselves, and they fit rather tight over my wader boots, and coupled with a pair of wading boots that fit perfectly, I have very little sand and absolutely NO rocks in my boots at the end of the day.
