    Default New School Prayer

The "new pledge of allegiance" for schools written by a 15 year old.

    NEW School prayer:

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule.
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
    Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
    That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
    Amen

Pay attention to what history has taught us or be prepared to relive it again

Anyone can pray to whomever they want to wherever they want to. It has no place in school though. If I had kids and their teacher wanted to pray before class everyday or say grace before lunch or whatever, I would have a serious issue with that. No body but kids parents should be introducing them to any sort of religion.

I can't stand when people try to "convert" me or push "god" on me. We all have the right to believe in what we want. Don't push it on me or our nations children if they or their parents don't want it.

There is separation of church and state for a reason. Look at President bush.

We as a society are going off course. Loosing direction.
I believe in freedom of religion, not being forced into any religion.
But removing the "One Nation Under God" from the pledge of allegiance in school is in my mind another step in the wrong direction. Its harmless.
So many kids have no morals, complete disrespect for others.
Heck, too many adults are like this.
Removing anything that has structure from a child's upbringing is a negative nowadays.
    Trust parents???
    Some yes, some no.
For the no, where do the kids get structure, learn right from wrong?

Religion in school has nothing to do with structure or right or wrong. Teachers are actually paid to teach structure and right and wrong. Not teach that there god is better than mine or that any god is better than none. That is not their concern. Teach the kids that smacking another kid is wrong, teach them that they must do their homework or there are consequences. If the parents don't teach them religion, nobody else should.

(and I don't really care if it's true or not either, just like it says in the paragraphs below. It's a great story illustrating at least some people in this country won't stand for the whining and disrespect of others)

    *******************

"Sometimes our sole purpose in life is to serve as a warning to others"! This professor became another example....Jerry
    This is GREAT
I don't know how true this is but it is a good story.

If you don't know GOD, don't make stupid remarks!!!!!!

A United States Marine was taking some college courses
between assignments. He had completed 20 missions in Iraq
    and Afghanistan .
One of the courses had a professor who
was an avowed atheist, and a member of the ACLU.

One day the professor shocked the class when he came in.
He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, "GOD, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform... I'll give you exactly 15 min."

The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am GOD, I'm still waiting."
It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got
    out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him;
knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold.

The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently.
The other students were shocked and stunned, and sat there looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to,
noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked,
"What in the world is the matter with you? Why did you do that?"

The Marine calmly replied, GOD was too busy today protecting America 's
soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid
stuff and act like an idiot. So He sent me."

    Default Good job, Marine!

The people who whine the loudest about school prayer and prayer in general are usually the people who won't get involved in any real life incidents for fear of getting a scratch on their skin or black eye. That teacher got what he deserved. Semper Fi.

Default Another take on the concept of Athiesm

    Sent in by JimmyZ, thanks!

Florida Court Sets Atheist Holy Day!

    Gotta love this Judge!

You must read this......a proper decision by the courts...for a change.

FLORIDA COURT SETS ATHEIST HOLY DAY
In Florida , an atheist created a case against Easter and Passover Holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians and Jews and observances of their holy days. The argument was that it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized days.
The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring,"Case dismissed!"
The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, "Your honor, How can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays..."
The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, "But you do. Your client, counsel, is woefully ignorant."
The lawyer said, "Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists."
The judge said, "The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day. Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that, if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day.
    Court is adjourned..."
You gotta love a Judge that knows his scripture!

This is too good not to forward!

Show me someone who says he is an athiest or doesn't want to believe in God. I'll show you a hippocrite when you see that person behind the scenes in a time of life threatening illness, and they are crying out to God to help them.
