Default striped bass record: New North Carolina state record 64 lbs!

Wow, did anyone hear about this caught yesterday, is it official yet?

Stripers action was great today also. 64 pound striper just weighed in, appears to be a NEW STATE RECORD. Other stripers citations from 35 pounds to 48 pounds. Great catch and release action on stripers also. Good fishing guys. All of the sore tired muscles were justified today. YE HAH !!!!!!

hmmm, the water temps at the inlet are around 41 degrees. They are talking about catch and release action on the Oregon inlet site. Why would they be doing catch and release, and more importantly, where, since it is around 40 degrees for the waters close to shore?

    Verrrrry interestink!

Dogfish, you're spot on. This is a link I found on tidalfish. It shows warmer water 8-10 miles out. Very interesting indeed.

"It looks like the water temps are below 39 degrees all the way to the point and east about 8-10 miles."

Nice fish if it was caught legally.

Does anyone know if they submitted it to the state as an actual record?
