Proposed Closing of False Cape State Park and other VA government cuts

Everywhere you turn around we are loosing access and we pay a lot of money in gas, tolls, tackle shops, restaurants to come in and fish an area. It's a shame they can't think of that when they make budget cuts.

On a day when Gov. Bob McDonnell reopened four shuttered rest stops, he recommended closing five state parks as part of a sweeping series of spending cuts to education, health care, and state pension obligations.
Those steps are among McDonnell's proposals to offset an estimated $2.2 billion shortfall in the two-year budget without increasing taxes, which the governor has vowed to avoid. He also shied away from deeper cuts to public safety and higher education, which he said had already seen reductions in recent years.
