first visit to rhode island

will be in rhode island in the fall never been there how is surf fishing.

My uncle took me there when I was younger. We fished the breechways that dump out the water from the salt ponds. We fished eels and caught some bass. They seemed like monsters to me, but now I realize they were only about 20lbs. Still great fishing for a kid. You may also want to try around the Point Judith lighhthouse, some great fishing from the rocks there.
What part of RI will you be staying at?

staying in south country but planning on going to newport and a few other spots.
