Please post fishing reports here.......as little or as much detail as you want to give.
Please note: NO SPOT BURNING! Posts burning spots will be Edited or DELETED!
Some veteran fishermen have put in years developing and learning about certain spots. Some of these spots can only handle a few guys at a time. We are losing enough access as it is, due to the unfortunate behavior of a few selfish people. No sense in making it worse.
For some areas, it would be wiser to say:
OutFront (Ocean) OR -- OutBack (Bay) -- if you feel too many people will figure out what you are talking about. "Spot burning" also could involve mentioning something specific only to that area. If you do this, your post may be edited, or deleted. Remember that thousands of people could potentially read these posts. You don't want to be fishing next to ALL of them at the same time!
IF you are fishing an area that is NOT residential, being vague is less critical. For example, it's acceptable to say (Any)Park, or (Any)Bay, or mention a specific state park that has loads of parking and can handle the crowds.
If you are unclear on this concept, ask yourself:
If I name this place on the internet, will it be too crowded for me to enjoy tomorrow when people hear I got 30 fish here today?
If the answer is "Yes", then you should probably not be so specific.

We post these reports so our community will have a sense of what is working, what is not. We want to show people how to catch fish, rather than where.Even if you struck out or got skunked, it would be helpful to hear that as well.
If you have any additional details you would like to share - weather conditions, tide (incoming, outgoing, ebb, flood) water temps, bait present, or other mention of techniques or plugs used - feel free.

This month we're giving out plugs from Ace Baits, or something similar.

Fished M for 2 hours into first light today, 5 bass to 36" on buck, all but the last one were around 22".

Insane action off FI
I took off work today and my uncle took us out in his boat. The birds were so thick they were like black clouds on the water! It made the bass easy to find, they were gorging on sandeels. For most of the day we were off Fire Island, not too far out.
We got bass to 32pounds, and enough bluefish from 5-15 pounfs that my arms will be sore for 2 days. All on diamond jigs, a27 and a47 with green tails. Great great day, go out and get them guys!
-
Worked a few areas W of Jones from 5-7:30 tonight. 8 bass to 36" on tins. These bass are fat pigs, fellas.
-
montauk small schoolies
My buddy and I went to Montauk yesterday. It wasn't that great. We each got a few small schoolies and small bluefish, using tins.
There were a lot of fish, bait, and boats just offshore. I wish we were in a boat, we would have slammed them.
-
Fished the Moses area this morning 6-10 on the incoming. 5 bass to 32" using heavy tins. The water was dirty but the fish were around.
-
I hit a SS inlet(outside the inlet, down the beach) a little while ago on the beginning of the outgoing. Got 3 bass to 30" on bucktail and pork.
-
Fished the S shore, the water was alive with bait, and birds were working about 300 feet out, pretty heavy at times. Hooked 6 bass to 37", 3oz tin. There were other fish caught, not everyone hooking up, what you might call a slow but steady pick. Fished from 6-8:30 AM.
-
my cousin and I fished staten island in this afternoon, we got 3 striped bass on bunker, one was a keeper, and one big bluefish. darkskies thany you for sending me the lure it is the nicest thing I won and you have a great fishing place here, thank you much!
-
Some nice fish were landed on the RM beaches this morning on tins and teasers. I got 6 to 18#, mostly hitting a 2 1/2oz tin squid I had. Nice fish, full of sandeels.
-
Yeah, BB it was amazing fishing for a few hours. I got 5 bass and lost a lot more, tins and bucktail, some faaaat bass!!!
-
Heard through the grapevine east of RM has been good the last 2 days I'll just leave it as SP was the place to be.
Cranky Old Bassturd.
-
RM has been hot and cold, but in the past few days there has been a warm breeze in the area.
Stuck 4 nice bass this morning to 16#, 3-6am, tins and teaser.
-
Fished the FI area fom 5-8a. Moved a few times, but fish were around. Managed 5 to 14#. Tins. Sandeels were thick.
-
Fished FI area from 6 to 9:30, the bass were a little far out, but I got 3throwing a 3oz tin, green tail. Biggest 28", these suckers are fat little footballs!
-
Took the 2nd shift at a moses beach, there was scattered action, saw a few fish caught. I managed one at 27" on a 2oz tin. And what 7dp said, these babies are fat and stuffed to the gills with sand eels.
-
Early bird gets the worm
Fished from 4 to 7a today, 4 bass to 29" on tin and teaser. FI area, most of the bass were caught around sunrise.
-
sunrise is the ticket
You were right, BB. Got 3 to28" on metal right around sunrise today.
-
I fished a stretch of beach at FINS, somewhere between M and an inlet. There was a quick flurry at first light. Picked up 4 bass, biggest 29", on a tin. Shut down as the sun came up. There were quite a few smaller bass caught. I hope this doesn't mean the run is waning, though it has been a good 2 weeks of solid fishing.
