    Default how to pickle herring

Herring are here now folks, time to catch them up and pickle them!
Here is a recipe I found that European Angler posted. It looks pretty good, I am going to try it. If you have any other recipes for pickled herring, post up.

    1. Clean them cut off head and tail

    2. Dip them in flour

    3. Deep fry in oil 3-4 minutes

    4. Soak them in marinade for 1 week

    5. Marinate is easy to make, made of vinegar and water and salt.
One glass of water, one glass of vinegar and one (small) spoon of salt. Make marinade to the boiling point, add thin sliced carrot, onion, red pepper. Add bay leaves, black pepper , and whole allspice. Boil this mixture for 5 minutes.

Put Herrings in some glass or plastic box pour marinate on them(fish need to be covered by marinate).Cover the box and put them to the fridge for one week, and then you are done!
