    Post Marbling 3

Here are a few pics. showing, a spinning rod that I did. The blank had some scratches, so I sanded that with 1000 grit wet dry paper. Problem was when I wiped it down with alcohol the rag had some lint, lesson learned use cheese cloth. Supposed to be lint free.

You can see in the one pic the little specks.

The tools for marbling are as simple as a tooth pick, dental pick, sewing needle, I use the acid brushes for applying the epoxy. Most important item I be leave is the dryer. I made mine using a rotisserie motor 7 turns per min.

I also was playing and tried to do a feather inlay, that was just for ha has.

    Thanks for looking

You do some nice marbling. Question on the marbling on the guides. Won't that crack when under stress?

DR That is the same as any epoxy finish. Today's epoxy is much more flexible then 30 yrs. ago.
