These aren't necessarily appropriate for fishin the salt...but they are $200, which is dirt cheap. Just remember they are short, and short kayaks are generally slower, track differently, and are sometimes less stable than longer ones. These are SIKs (Sit-in kayaks), as opposed to SOTs (Sit on Tops)

Again, for $200 for someone who is just learning and wants to limit their trips to small ponds or lakes, these might be good starter yaks.
