WICC greatest bluefish postpone dates

Contest is postponed until Sept 10th & 11th.
Registration is extended to Sept 9th.

I think it was pretty lame the way they handled this. Sure, you don't want people fishing in bad weather, but they don't offer any types of refunds. I wish someone else would take over the contest, I am tired of the way they communicate things.

They are a bunch of greedy bastids, and thats all I will say about that.

I am so disappointed. At least they had the common sense not to make it during labor day weekend.

I fished that once many years ago & didn't like it and have never done it again.

15.41lb blue is the winner


The WICC-Port Jeff Ferry Greatest Bluefish Tournment on Earth was run in Long Island Sound over the weekend after a postponement due to the hurricane. A Connecticut angler repeated his 2001 win with a 15.41-pounder. The next two blues of 15.16 and 14.98 pounds were weighed in at the western end of the Sound (much closer for Jersey anglers) in Jack's Tackle at City Island, New York.
