    Default cracked tile

There is a tile cracked in my kitchen. How can I repair/replace just that one?

It really is not that difficult. Just be careful so you don't crack or break other tiles in the process.

Break out the cracked tile by tapping it with the back of a claw hammer. Be careful not to damage the surrounding tiles.

After the tile breaks, chisel it out along with the old grout and adhesive.

Use a putty knife or notched trowel to apply ready-mixed tile adhesive to the opening for the tile. Small tubes of ready-mixed grout and adhesive can be found at most home-improvement centers.

Press the new tile in place, and allow it to dry overnight.

Fill the gap around the tile with ready-mixed grout. Spread the grout with your finger, and push it firmly into the gap. Wipe away excess grout, and allow it to dry overnight.

Buff any dried grout off the tiles, and apply a sealer to prevent water from soaking into the grout
