That' Plug is beautiful, Monty. Rip sent me one in some what of a brown color. Need to take a picture of it. It has awesome swimming action. I used my 10 footer to cast it. Also 4 oz. Good luck with it. I'm sure I get My biggiest fish on it. Thanks again Rip.

Rip-Plugger makes some of the biggest wood out there....ya need a cannon to launch it......
Just kidding.....it's the good fisherman who carries different things with him....there are times when only the smallest plugs, teaser, rubber, or bucktails will produce, and others (usually when bunker are around) when big wood is the strategic profile.....

    As always, nice work, Roddy!

Have gotten some calls about your area....hope you're into the bite up there......

Been beating the heck out of those two poppers, coated them again this week.
The blues hate that color (clobber it).

Thank God for the blues, Amen. Without them being there it would be the atomic wasteland some days. Island Beach, if not for the blues, would only have chicks in bikinis. Hey, that can't be all bad.

    Hello DS,

the bite has come and gone now,the fish are off shore in my parts now, also some headed east.
    water temps are 70+.
had a great spring run though, started early at the end of march.
now it's gator time, still lots of bunkers around here split up into small pods.
I was watching the small gators and some bass beat the crap out of the bluebacks, alewives and bunkers last sunday first light,it wasa full on gangfight, they were knocking bait clear out of the water and bashing them again when they hit the water.

i put the big sticks back in the rack, time to stop targeting the larger fish as they are done,,,for now.
time to get back to the standard stuff.

What a monstrous piece of wood? Do you think it will cast well in the surf zone or would it better in current?

    Hi Cowherder,

actually,it's not so large,it is thick but, short, just 7 inches or a bit less.
it will cast well because of it's compactness though along with it's weight.
I asume it will dance on top very well as I gave it a wide lip to grab the water more so,you can crank it slow and get high waggle out of it.
will see when Monty soaks it next session.
    hope waggs well,,,,,,,

    R-P

to answer your question,I think it can do both well,surf/current.
