2 more lost to Rip Currents

Searches resume this morning for two swimmers presumed lost in the waters off of Asbury Park and Seaside Park on Wednesday.
At 8 a.m. a State Police boat will resume the search for the body of a 23-year-old man who went missing in the waters off of Asbury Park Wednesday afternoon, city fire officials said.
A search will also resume for an 18-year-old Bayonne man who went under amid a rip current off of Seaside Park about 2:45 p.m. and never came back up, Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Michael Paulhus said.
In both cases lifeguards were not on duty, officials said.
In Asbury Park, at least three other people were rescued from the Second Avenue beach about 5:20, shortly after lifeguards left for the day at 5 p.m.
All the people rescued appeared to have been taken into the ocean by a rip current.
On Wednesday afternoon lifeguards and rescue divers conducted search patterns in the area where the man was thought to have gone down and a Coast Guard helicopter deployed a thermal-imaging tool to search for signs of life, Asbury Park fire officials said.
This morning at 8 a.m., a State Police rescue boat with more sophisticated sonar technology will begin a search in the waters off of Asbury Park for the man’s body, fire officials said.
