If true this is the first time in years. Congrats to the lucky angler.

From Ristoris report-
930-pound bluefin caught by Gina Lisa

Capt. Bob Pisano got word this morning that Capt. Danny Scotti had boated a 930-pound giant tuna Sunday on Gina Lisa from Great Kills, Staten Island. The information that Pisano received indicates the giant was caught in the Mud Hole and brought back to Great Kills. That would be the first giant boated in that area in the last few years, though Pisano had one on last fall before the hook pulled. Decades ago there was often a real run of giants in the Mud Hole that attracted a fleet of boats from all points in N.Y./N.J. Bight. The lack of them in recent years may have been due to the loss of whiting in the Mud Hole, but Capt. Arthur Stokes noted today that the Mud Hole has been full of small squid and anchovies.
