    Great report and info Urban....

So you're saying that so far,,,,Mtk has been better for you than the North Fork?

any thoughts on why that is?

And thanks again for the report.....best of luck.....

The migration reaches MTK first because that southern land mass reaches further into the atlantic than the North Fork.
Huge amounts of bait get suck out of lake MTK & funneled toward then around the point. If there is no Noreaster to blow out the bait
this will be a very good fall because the water temps are still above normal. The Albies are still there!
Orient has bass & albies but has not lite up yet. the fish that migrate along the sound have not made their way in force through gardiner's Island yet.
The Race however is on fire but thats drift fishing from boats, so who cares!

Yes it is, UFM. Were you there this weekend. Saw a guy in wetsuit way out on a rock that looked a little like you. Great action, finally.

Saturday we did the death march to get away from the crowds & were rewarded with non stop action!
Fish were 12 to 16 pounds. Sunday Sucked I went home to Orient Point & drilled a 30 pounder on a half ounce black bucktail.
Monday in Montauk was EPIC! had over 30 bass. Most times it was a bass on every cast all morning long! The afternoon was good I fished with Zeno from Surfcaster's Journal & he commented on how many 18 pounders were getting picked.
I don't know how long the bait will stay so I'm livin the dream as often as possible!Click image for larger version.

hope it was the hurricane swells that only got me ten bass yesterday
the fish were 12 to 15 pounds & smaller than they've been the last 8 weeks.
    11 more days & I'm done in M!

Fished MTK yesterday & it was awesome!
Took a 40 minute walk during the out going to a remote South Side Cove & had Bass blitzes.
Then town beach exploaded for a 3 hour bluefish blitz with Bass underneath the blues.
Left late last night the surf was building by the minute. in the Coves the surf had you backed up to the cliffs.
    NOT safe!
Best Wishes & be Safe!Click image for larger version.
