We can never catch a break. Where are those scientists on our side when you need them?

What was feared in the case of black sea bass has come to pass. Due to recreational catches being well over the yearly quota, the National Marine Fisheries Service has shut down the recreational fishery for the rest of the year. The fishery had been scheduled to reopen from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31. Once again, party boats that specialize in fishing for the biggest sea bass of the year will be shut out of their fishery during the winter when their alternatives are limited. The RFA points out that the real problem is that the stock has been rebuilt to such an extent that anglers almost can't help but exceed the quota.

heard today it will stay open in state waters which this time of year is useless

Pay attention to what history has taught us or be prepared to relive it again

agreed, they are mostly offshore. so what is the point of keeping state waters open, just for good public realations?
