A Googan Moment

Well I kinda blame Dark for this (or his aura).

I had been fishing for 5 or so hours, no problems, into small blues, had caught one bass, everything was fine.
Then I miss a swirl at a top water plug, miss another.
I see Dark and Pebbles a 100 or so yards away and start walking over and casting and missed a few more fish.
I get over by them and exchange pleasantries and I am not sure if Dark or me noticed I had no tail hook on the plug.
I carry spares so quickly slap one on.
I start to walk away to fish and Dark grabs my shoulder and then the plug and he removes the hook protector from the hook I was about to start fishing with.

Just seems like a heck of a coincidence that I was fine, Googan event free until I was in Dark's presence.

Seriously, thanks Dark for noticing the protector on the hook as missing those other hits was beginning to give me a complex.

I didn't want to hijack your goog of the year thread....but I was thinking I might put myself back in the Goog race.....
Here are my qualifications.....

1. Recently screwed up in a bad way at the Save Jetty Country rally. Forgot a simple thing like how to use the record feature on my video cam. Had not used the camera in about a year..... but it's still no excuse. The stupidity factor was in effect.

2. Today I was carrying a big box of plumbing supplies out of my house. The wind whipped, caught the edge of the box, I went flying to land on my face and ankle, twisting and smashing my ankle pretty badly.

I was hoping for consideration back into the Goog club. Both of these were clearly avoidable, just not avoidable by me.
I don't want to steal Monty's thunder here....what do you people think.....
Can I jump back into the Goog race?

Dude excuse me for raining on your parade here. If you never stopped being a googan you don't have to ask for permission back into the club. I don't think you quite climbed out of that level yet. I remember that day you got washed off the jetty in broad daylight when that big swell came along. That was a serious googan move. just my .02

When I can fish again it will be 2.0
Rebuilt shoulder, not fishing for over 7 months has been a bummer.
Hopefully get doctor clearance this Wednesday. Going to be scouting and making some casts this Sunday am.

Definitely Googan ankle, especially since he wasn't fishing. Almost as bad as burying a hook in a finger 40 miles from the ocean throwing a plug into a tree.

That looks broken to me. You should take one aspirin a day to thin the blood you could have a lot of clots from those bruises. Get better soon.

I got these larger shads to give to Monty next time I see him. They came with special instructions on the package. Monty let me know when ya want your shads....they''re sitting at my house, just waiting to be used......
