A 31-foot Chris Craft boat was destroyed and 32-foot Carver a boat ran aground Sunday night after an incident in Manasquan Inlet.

The Chris Craft boat, which was being towed by the Carver, broke loose and hit the rock around at approximately 11:43 p.m., said Point Pleasant Beach Detective Patrick Petruzziello.

The Carver was destroyed and pieces of it are washing up on the beach, said Coast Guard Lt. Veronica Smith. The Coast Guard has sent out a warning alerting area boaters to debris being in the area, Smith said.
It’s unclear what caused the incident, Smith said.
No one was injured during the incident, Petruzziello said.
Smith said a private salvage company will be brought in to remove the boat, but no timetable has been set for the removal of the vessel.

So the Carver was towing the CC? Sucks for him if that was the case.
