Default Stripping basket mount on kayak-

I just thought I would share this. I was getting tangled in my fish finder while standing up fly casting in my kayak. I had a collapsible stripping basket that I attached zip ties in for line management but the basket just isn't that useful- and I made my own "orvis" stripping basket.

SO I was thinking about this- My kayak comes with a stand assist bar- that I actually rarely use because the kayak is super stable- Well I mounted the basket onto the stand assist bar and it is situated perfectly for when I stand- the basket is right under me but not in the way. I can even lower the stand assist bar into the cockpit and use the basket while in a seated position (an added benefit).
When not in use the stand assist bar is on the bow of the kayak and keeps the basket out of the way.

At least you have the ability to stand on that BIGRIG!!

I have to cast sitting down and yes fly line seems to find a way to catch on everything!

I've seen seated anglers put a beach towel in their lap and use that as a stripping basket.

    Nice setup
