Anyone seen DS lately? I hope it wasn't him. Whoever it was, it is very sad news.
I don't think so. Fish that area a lot and haven't run into him lately. Very sad news tho. Be careful out there guys. The current is no joke. RIP
Thoughts and prayers.
Saw that on the news last night. This time of year is risky, condolences and may he RIP

The Clark patch had a little more info. Seems they found him in waist deep water. He might have gotten stressed out by the whole ordeal and had a heart attack. Tough break, rip.
"He has been identified as Ronald Moore, 69, of Union.Moore was fishing in the surf at the Sandy Hook fishing beach before 8 a.m. Wednesday when his gear got carried out in a wave. He tried to retrieve it and that's when he, too, got pulled out into the rough surf. The currents around Sandy Hook, a peninsula, can be very strong.
Another fisherman saw the man getting pulled out into the icy ocean water and called 911. Rangers with the National Park Service responded, as did Middletown police and Sea Bright Fire Rescue. When they got there, Moore was in waist-deep water and he was pulled from the water by park rangers, and Sea Bright personnel performed CPR. Past Patch reporting: Fisherman Rescued Off Sandy Hook Dies
The man was rushed to Monmouth Medical Center in West Long Branch in extremely serious condition, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital at 9:56 a.m. Wednesday. The investigation by police showed that the drowning was accidental. Police ask if anyone has additional information, to please call the Middletown Twp. Police Detective Bureau at (732) 615-2120."

Either way it's pretty tragic. Be careful out there fellas. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
I heard he was fishing a rod with bait. A fish hit and started taking the rod into the water. He went after it and then got out too far. I'm not making judgements here, it's still very sad no matter what happened. No fish is worth your life though. RIP Sir.
Wow, bummer. As for DS hes ok, just talked to him the other day. T&P for the guys family.
Prayers sent, that is def sad news
