    Default Clams, stinky or fresh?

Rip bought what he thought was a bad batch of clams the other day. Without naming the tackle shop, I told him maybe the clams would be more productive. The water was colder then and the fish were sluggish.

(to me, these didn't smell that bad. I guess smell is subjective. G has been fishin with me, and the clams we sometimes use would burn the paint off your car...)

I don't think there have been scientific studies to see the "smell vs hit ratio" of clams. I could be wrong.

Fresh or stinky doesn't matter to me, clams is clams is what I say...

    What say you??

I like fresh better but only because they don't make your hands stink. What do I know.

THESE THINGS WERE HORRID. The meat was grey dude. I don't mind clammin or fishing chunks. The smell doesn't bother me but, these things were bad. Tackle shop should be ashamed to sell these things.

Instead of "Riptide Rotters," should we call these "Rip316 Rotters"?

In the meantime I agree with Simp, we should call them Rip Rotters.

Just think, if next season you opened a bait place, you would already have the name recognition. You could make a mint with the Rip Rotters!

I don't do clams at all but when I do fish bait it must be the freshest available or I won't bother.Just my .02 cents.
