Kayak Fishing Association of New York (KFA-NY)
Here's another fine group of folks involved in access issues for fishermen and kayakers. Rpsurf5, a member here, is on the Board of Directors.
I don't know this group personally, but have checked out their website, and like what they are involved in.
Remember folks, you don't have to join all of these, or any -- it's your choice.
But - if changes are made to regulations or access which you do not agree with, these are the groups who work behind the scenes to get things done. They could really use your financial support, even a little bit, to keep the fight going. The best way to resolve some of these issues is to gain strength through numbers. Stand up and be counted!
(Or at least check out some of these sites, and try to learn what you can) Thanks, bunkerjoe.

Here's a little background info from their website:
The Kayak Fishing Association of New York ("KFA-NY") is pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for membership. The KFA-NY is a group of kayak anglers looking to promote kayak fishing in a safe and fun environment. Our members will have a significant voice in how the club is run. There will be annual surveys and other opportunities where the members will inform the Club Directors of their wishes. Initial surveys have already indicated which species we will target and at what locations for this year's on-the-water meetings. At these events, we will have a short meeting to discuss some Club business and then we will all launch and fish an area together with a local member serving as a "Trip Captain" for us. Other activities such as fundraiser's and community events are being considered in addition to our indoor meetings when the weather starts to get cold.
Membership Dues are $50.00 plus a $10.00 (one time) application fee, send your completed application along with your check made payable to:
Kayak Fishing Association of N.Y., Ltd., PO Box 252, Sayville, NY 11782.
The KFA-NY.ORG web site is currently up and running with public forums for you to acquire and share your knowledge, as well has have a conversation with some fellow kayak fishing enthusiasts. Also there are forums for "Members Only" where we will make club announcements, solicit member opinions, and provide kayak fishing reports. Parts of the web site are still under construction and should be completed soon.
The current Board of Directors and Officers are as follows:
Richard Anemone - President
Anthony Weiss - Vice President
Carl Schneider - Secretary
