What part of fishing the surf do you want to improve on the most?
Presentation of artificial, better the presentation
Identifying and matching the bait in the area
Reading the beach
Landing hooked fish
Hooking fish that you get to “hit” a presentation
Finding and fishing areas that have fish in the area
Fishing in the “dark” hours more
Increase casting distance
Increase your “intel” (better your “where to catch fish” connections)

Always having a new place to back you up is always a good thing especially when they are low profile areas.
Cranky Old Bassturd.
Well-thought out, Monty, good poll.
I really want to get a better idea of reading the beach. Usually I study it at low tide but there are so many beaches where I have no clue.
Look for the funny water when you have no clue.Water does different things around structure that is underwater I know it sounds strange but keep looking you will see.

Thanks surfstix
I put other. Find more places where there are less crowds. Island Beach last fall was a joke.
I think there used to be more areas that held fish. Now if you want quality over quantity you pretty much have to fish near the inlets, jetties, or bridges.
I am trying to pay more attention to my presentation of the artificials. I find at times like working a pencil or polaris popper I get more more hits when making a bigger commotion on top or working slower or faster. I'm terrible with bucktails and am fishing them more, getting some type of feel for them. Same with rubber shads. Working plugs slower at night and then varying speeds (consciously (LOL)). I fish 14" Hogys a lot, seem to run hot and cold with catching on them and am pretty sure my presentation changes during slumps and I then need to work them deeper. I caught more fish earlier this year working deeper in the water column very often, but got in the habit of working higher in column way to much the last month. Its a fun learning experience.

I want to start fishing the rocks or at least close to them. Sandy Hook has been so lame this year.
I go when I can and don't have a lot of friends who fish. So my fishing is hit and miss. I would like to get better at finding fish in the Sound in the summer. It is a slow period for us and bass are mostly caught in the eastern part of Ct where the offshore reefs are, mostly reachable froim a boat.
Some times I get a lot of bumps that don't result in hookups. I want to learn to be quicker on the strike.
You have to find the fish if you want to catch them. Things have really slowed down on the S Shore. Time for a trip to Montauk!
I want to learn to read the beach better or learn how to do it when I go to other beaches that have more cuts and valleys. A lot of the beaches I fish in south jersey are very flat.
This years experimenting with smaller ones failed for me. I like fishing the 14" black ones, have more confidence in them, enjoy it more. I did find that throwing a white 10" Hogy at the first sign of light through sunrise, walked on the surface can bring LOTS of action. This past August I started throwing it and had a ball with it.
But have not had consistent success with smaller rubber Hogys in black or with jig heads, but thats likely just me fishing how I like to fish.

Thanks Monty. I'm going to give the bigger ones a try.
