Sea roaches, feel like lying down on a jetty?

Saw these last week on some rocks. It was a public place. A girl was walking by with her mother and spotted them first, they asked me what they were, I said "probably roaches of some kind". don't think that was the answer they wanted to hear.

Anyone else see these around? They were all on one rock in this area, no decaying bait around that I could see, right before sunset, looked like they were waiting for dinner.

Ran into things like that last year at TI. Nasty creatures, you don't want to put your lunch down while fishing and walk a few feet away from it.
