Wow that is such a bummer! Thoughts and prayers to his family.
I heard the news. Jack was a fixture out East with his old Cherokee. Always had time to spin a tale or shoot the breeze. You will be missed old friend. May you have tight lines in heaven.
One of the good ones out there. RIP Mr Yee
I heard he was sick but thought he had gotten better. Always enjoyed his reports and pics. T&P.

TheFisherman's Prayer
God grant that I may live to fish
Until my dying day
And when it comes to my last cast
I then most humbly pray
When in the Lord's safe landing net
I'm peacefully asleep
That in his mercy I be judged
As good enough to keep.
Pay attention to what history has taught us or be prepared to relive it again
That is a nice tribute finchaser. Did not know the man but have read about him and seen the videos. They say he helped a lot of people at montauk. Especially when guys got hooks in their fingers he could get them out quick without a hospital trip.
Rest in peace Jack.
RIP Jack, sounds like you left a lot of good memories for people in Montauk.

Yes sir. Got some flak for his reports but he was always around to help folks as well. Jack will be missed.

I did a mini-interview the last time I saw him in Montauk, in 2009.

I regret that I haven't seen him since then. A true character as some have said. A good man, one who lived life on his own terms.
I wish you could still be around with us, Jack...but unfortunately we can't predict when God will take us from this world.......
to be in eternal life with Him...All the more reason to be grateful for the time we have on this Earth.......
And......not take for granted anyone we know.....who has suffered health problems...or who is up there in age.....
RIP Jack....my deepest condolences and thoughts to his friends and family......
See ya on the other side.....
Well said. He was a good man. Had his vices but we all do. He never turned down anyone who needed help. The kind of man who would go out of his way to assist a fellow fisherman. RIP Jack.

A Requiem For A Surfcasting LegendBy Vito Orlando
The Light House Went DimIts Fog Horn Fell MuteAs A Farewell To A SurfmanAnd A Final Salute
Angels In Wet SuitsSent To Guide The WayPointed To The HeavensAs A Place He Could Stay
The Majestic CliffsCried Out In SorrowAnd The Boulders BelowKnew Of No Tomorrow
Word Quickly SpreadOf His Departure From This LandAnd Many A Tough SurfmanShed A Tear In The Sand
Some May RecallHis Camper In The GrassAnd The Offer Of CoffeeTo All Who Would Pass
A Hook In Your HandNo Reason To BallThis Surf Casting LegendWas Always On Call
He Loved To DriveHis Jeep On The BeachAnd Always A CameraWithin Easy Reach
He Often SwamTo An Off Shore StoneAnd Weakfish RockWas Considered His Home
As Time Went OnAnd Years Rolled PastThe Vigor Of His YouthCould No Longer Last
It Was A Painful DayWhen He Made Up His MindThat The Best Days Of FishingWere Left Far Behind
As His Fragile BodyBegan To SoreHe Fought A Brave BattleTill He Could Take No More
He Now Fishes With AngelsAnd St. Peter Too“Come On In Wabbit We’ve Been Waiting For You"
