    Just How Good Are Circle Hooks?

    They will improve your hook up rate to 90 to

    95%.They almost completely eliminate gut hooked
    fish and reduce fish mortality.
    They make it easier to release a fish unharmed.

    x2 on the circles. Sometimes you can leave the rod in the holder and the fish will hook themselves.

    Work great when trolling eels from a kayak as well. Get them right in the corner of the mouth.

    I think they should mandate circle hooks for anyone baitfishing in NJ. My .02

    It also makes it easier to fish more than one rod on your boat. Hold one in your hand, deadstick the other with a circle. The fish will hook itself. Have caught many a larger fluke that way.
