What great pictures! Maybe some of you others can post old fishing pics for days of yesterday as well.

Nice first bass, did you get him on artificials or bait? We used to fish shiners, get the biggest ones we could find, deadly in the spring.

Thanks for posting. I loved the fishing from late 90's to the early 2000s. Had 2 great seasons 1999 and 1998. Action started late but it was memorable. That was real blitzing and what we called a solid bite. Fish every night for a week. 1999 was island beach and I think the year before that was a little north in ocean county. Wasn't big on logs back then. THAT was epic fishing though.

I would love to see weakfish like I had as a kid.

I remember fishing sandworms and catching weakfish back to back while targeting porgies. Didn't really know much back then just a bunch of googans having family fun time catching dinner.

My mom has an 18# weakfish I have to go digging for pictures.

Do any of you folks remember back in the 70's when weakfish were so plentiful we were actually annoyed they got in the way of the striped bass. Considered nuisance fish. Now they are scarce as hen's teeth.

For the record once again my friends killed those.... But here is another funny story

I was and always am a converted pa freshwater guy was all about HIP boots when i started and as a young angler i only had so much money after transporation, and weekend beer money and for the most part it worked. Bridges and dry sods of sheapshead creek produced nice weakies and then one may i discovered my super spot, a clam bed on a flat that went out to a channel, iwhich held huge weaks best on incomming tide i must have fished all of may one year in my hip boots by fishing low tide and getting as many as i could before the tide pushed me too far back, i told a few guys to come but DONT tell anyone, you can imagine how that went and soon there was a congo line of guys with superior waders and i was like ohh crap look at these fish they catch past mid tide!
