Late report, had some of the most fantastic blue fishing action on the NS last week. they were chasing adult bunkers and were in a frenzy. Pencil poppers at the end of the day was a great way, and the visual of these huge fish crushing those poppers will be etched in my mind through the long cold winter. I had blue fish over 15 pounds for 5 days in a row. Possibly it was going on for longer than that, what a fall run big of monsters! Back to the stripers last night. Fished the SS before the rain. Only one runt on a bucktail and pork.
Also wanted to mention that I went to Montauk this weekend. Nothing but rats left on bucktails.
Fished CSS from 1:30 to 9:30 this morning in challenging conditions.
Missed a few hits throughout the trip, think the cross wind was an issue and I had too much belly in the line.
Lost a nice fish on a black 3 oz bottle darter around 3:00, landed ~26 inch bass on the North Bar Darter, loaded.
Interesting trip, wind was tough, great looking water, maybe back out Tuesday AM.
