Well once again i dialed back salt water trips to concentrate on what many say can't be done, pull large smallmouth from the Schyukill river in suburban Philadelphia, all 1/4 mile from my front door, Walleye mixed in. I exceeded my expectations and got not one but two signature fish I really wanted. I said this before with giant flathead catfish, I used tactics I learned from striped bass, concentrating on rip water, sweeping the spots with heavy big lures and darkness. This river not long was once dead for smallmouth but is having a crazy comeback. A few local river rats called me a liar and im catching elsewhere but they all stuck in their ways using tiny lures mid day. Its why I wear a mask. The walleye ran smaller then the big class i used to find a few years strait but more fish. Snuck in a few beautiful Native Brown trout too in Valley Forge park
