When I first took up kayak fishing I was concerned that my safety light would spook them. It turns out that the light actually attracted stripers to the kayak.

Sometimes you have to break conventional wisdom in order to see the other side of things.

I'll stick to keeping my light off for unhooking fish and turning my back to the water when I need to light up the inside of my plug bag (use a dim red light).

Princeton Tec Remix headlamp with red & white leds. Has a high and low version of both red and white. Mine has seen a lot of rain/splashing over the years and is still going strong.

I use my light to flash others as they are approaching. I use the universal "go away" flashes.

Great light. I have had mine for a few years as well.
